This type of construction is not only modern and sophisticated, it also incorporates the exposed-wood aesthetic of the historic Minneapolis Warehouse District. The TMBR© building will be built using cross-laminated timber that recreates the warm, organic feel of exposed wood. The floor-to-ceiling windows will allow natural light to flood the living spaces, enhancing the unique organic beauty of the wooden structure.

Building with mass timber is more ecologically friendly than building with traditional steel and concrete materials. Wood sequesters carbon, and locking CO2 semi-permanently out of the atmosphere can have a major impact on air quality that will last for generations. In addition, timber harvesting and wood construction use less energy and significantly reduce construction times compared to traditional building methods and materials. Wood is extremely energy-efficient. It consumes only one-third the embodied energy of steel and one-fifth of concrete. Steel requires large amounts of energy to heat and cool and is heavier to transport to construction sites. Wood is 65 percent lighter, limiting the concrete requirement for foundations, saving materials, and reducing construction time and labor costs. All wood used throughout the TMBR© building—from beams to cabinetry—will be certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world’s forests.

Inside TMBR© you’ll see an attention to detail that is rarely found in modern residential construction. Builder Todd Simning, a 31-year veteran of luxury custom construction and owner of ADŌR Bespoke Homes, is committed to using only the finest finishes and materials—from floor to ceiling and everything in between. Unlike most buildings that use shoe molding to cover uneven flooring and gaps, TMBR© will hand scribe all base molding and cabinetry to the floor for a perfect, seamless fit. Real wood floors, that can be refinished over time, and 1-3/4-inch solid-core interior doors will be used throughout the structure for warmth, durability and sustainability. Appliances will include Wolf ranges, Kohler Purist Collection plumbing fixtures, Emtek cabinet and door hardware, ASKO dishwashers, and Meile washers and dryers. Kitchens will feature quartz countertops, large center islands, and built-in refrigerators with wood panels.

TMBR© will also be well-staffed to meet the needs of each one of our residents. Our well-trained team includes an on-site caretaker for day-to-day maintenance and a building manager who is ready to help with special requests. Other amenities include a full fitness center, comfortable lobby with plenty of seating for guests, bike storage, a dedicated package room for deliveries, a spacious rooftop patio, and large individual storage units for each residence.
